If you have time while in Bali, get out of the tourist traps of Kuta, Legian, and Nusa Dua to explore the incredible vistas the island has to offer. The beauty, calm, and history you'll discover will wow you!

Although Bali is famed for its stunning beaches and exciting nightlife, there are many less touristy regions to visit. If you don't want to go to crowded beaches or shop along Kuta or Seminyak famous retail strips, you'll find that these lesser-known Bali destinations are well worth the trip.

1. Jatiluwih

Jatiluwih, located at the foot of Mt. Batukaru, is a lovely location famed for its emerald terraced rice terraces, which are a UNESCO Cultural Heritage Site. The word Jatiluwih literally means "very good," and it appropriately describes the region's calm scenery. This is an excellent location for getting away from the crowds, taking in the scenery, and getting some fresh air. It can also be a great place to check off the "fix sleep schedule" box.

In the high season, the main road can be congested with tour buses, but take one of the pathways into the paddies, and you'll find yourself in Bali's heartland. Take a walk in the countryside, meet the residents, and learn about the subak, the village's unique irrigation system.

2. Munduk

All roads lead to Munduk if you enjoy being close to nature. Munduk is a small village nestled in the Bali mountains. The ridge of the Bedugul caldera can be seen, which is flanked by green fields and spice plantations. The local culture has been well preserved due to its secluded position.

Trekking tours in the highlands and hiking trips in the local villages are available for visitors. The Munduk region offers breathtaking views of mountains, forests, waterfalls, rice fields, and a massive banyan tree.

3. Banjar

Imagine soaking in a relaxing pool of therapeutic water surrounded by deep woodlands, with the only sound you hear is birds tweeting. There are various hot springs distributed over the island that are ideal for relaxing tired muscles and rejuvenating the mind, but Banjar Hot Springs stands out for its peacefulness.

These hot springs' wide stone pools provide a relaxing dip in waters renowned for their health advantages. They are located on the calm north coast of the island, around five kilometers from Lovina.

4. Padangbai

Padangbai is a small town on Bali's east coast. Because it is mostly used as a transit point for visits to Lombok and the Gili Islands, this peaceful village is rather unpopulated. Exploring this coastal community, on the other hand, uncovers hidden locations and breathtaking scenery where you may be the only foreigner.

The Padangbai coast has beautiful beaches that are untouched and away from the crowds. The tranquil seas make it ideal for swimming, diving, and snorkeling with the kids. If you want to stay in Padangbai for a few days, there are a variety of modest hotels, guesthouses, and villas to select from.

5. Candidasa

Candidasa's gorgeous beaches and coral reefs have long since vanished due to erosion, but it is still an excellent site to visit for sightseeing and wildlife excursions. Candidasa has a number of villages. Tourists can enjoy distinct sites and attractions in each of them.

Tenangan Balinese village is an excellent spot to immerse yourself in the local culture. The peasants, known as Bali Aga, follow customs and beliefs that are distinct from those found in developed Bali. They have preserved an ancient pre-Majapahit Balinese culture that is distinct from the rest of the island. The villagers adhere to animist ideas, worship, and cosmology to the letter. After dusk, the Bali Aga community is closed to strangers.

Bali is a magical place full of beauty and culture. You will have no trouble finding a relaxing spot to put up your feet after a long day of sightseeing. Plan your trip today for a once-in-a-lifetime vacation.
